2019 High Heat LE Set

The 2019 High Heat League ended with a San Diego Armada victory over the Arlington Cannons. The series when all five games with the Armada losing the first two games then coming from behind to steal the trophy out of the Cannons arms in a game five that featured 24 runs.

Randy Jones

Nicknamed the “Crafty Lefty” Jones won 22 games in 1976 and in 40 starts had 25 complete games. He is one of the first Clutch starting pitchers to have a 1-2 K range, he struck out 93 batters in 315 innings. So you are really going to want to have a strong infield defense behind him. As the manager of the Armada I chose Jones because he was the most interesting San Diego pitcher that didn’t have a card printed yet.

Akinori Otsuka

My second choice was Aki; 2004 was his first year pitching in America after seven years playing professionally in Japan. He had a great rookie year and wow look at that card. His Clutch card is insane, 6 command with R+1 bonus and two icons for under 265 is legendary. If there was one reason to buy this set, it is this card.

Chase Utley

Making the High Heat World Series gave the Cannons the opportunity to choose one guy to round out the set. And as a Philadelphia fan he went with one of recent legends of the city of brotherly love. Utley help his team to a second consecutive World Series appearance in 2009. He won a batting title and there isn’t a more well rounded 2B Clutch card. 14 on base, plus a natural home run, 20 speed and perfect defense.
