2019 Clutch Series 3 Insert Preview – Generations 1980’s

Alan Trammell (Detroit, 1987)

Alan Trammell’s Clutch card will resemble the legacy of his career. Although he’s great, will he find his way on to your team? He does rock an onbase 14, Speed B, +4 defense at a tough short stop position. But is he worth 575 salary? He doesn’t double until 19, doesn’t HR until 22+, and has negative clutch. He’s good, no, great… for a short stop. Don’t get me wrong. But I think we would be having a different discussion if he was speed A with a runs icon.

Sabes must be short for sabermetrics, right? This dude can pitch. But is he too good? Does one want to pay for 4 icons? You might want to trade some of those for an 8 IP sp. But if your looking for a big game starter you can’t go wrong with Saberhagen. His +5 defense can make up for a poor defense catcher.
