I was randomly considering our Barry Bonds discussion at the Philly tournament and how Barry would be fairly game-breaking with an insanely high OB from one of his many seasons as the leader in IBBs. To balance the scales, I propose introducing 'Inherent Abilities'.

i.e. If Barry Bonds gets a sick 19 OB, his inherent might be, "When Intentionally Walked, the Next Batter's OB is +0". This not only balances out the cray-cray 19OB but also indirectly addresses Barry's history as one of the most Left On Base hitters ever.

Inherents could similarly address MikeTheRed's desire to address splits for switch hitters' strengths on specific sides of the plate.
i.e., for Yasmani Grandal, "HR is one number lower vs LHP". I didn't do any research for that one, just spewing an example.

And for your viewing pleasure, please reference Mystique from Marvel OverPower's IQ expansion, circa 1996.

Patiently waiting for the Omar Vizquel 1999 Career Year card - .333/.397/.436 - AS, GG, SB

Interestingly enough, we've considered this.  However it was for a game not named Clutch Baseball 🙂

Not to derail this thread.... But 2001 Career Year Bonds would have to be the first 1000 pt. Clutch card yeah? High OB +15, low HR 17+(?), along with a AS, HR, MVP, SL icon along with +3 Clutch.

AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI SB BB SO AVG
Trout 15-16 1124 227 345 64 11 70 190 41 208 295 0.306
Bonds 00-01 956 258 303 60 6 122 243 24 294 170 0.316

I'm afraid he could break the game! No doubt he would be over 1000 points. I can't imagine trying to build a lineup around that.
